Confidentiality

All Vitae counselling services are anonymous and confidential. This includes information about whether or not you have accessed services, dates and times of sessions, and anything you discuss.

There are some exceptions to this, including:

  • if there is imminent danger to yourself or another named person
  • if records are subpoenaed by a court of law
  • if you give informed consent for information to be released.

Access to personal information

All records of counselling sessions are securely stored by your counsellor on their own database or the Vitae platform. You can request access to your notes by submitting a privacy information request on our website.

Counsellors will not provide letters of support for any purpose – all such requests also need to go through Vitae.

Feedback

You’ll have the opportunity to participate in an anonymous feedback survey when your sessions are complete.
You can also provide feedback at any time – use the Contact us link on the website.
