August 2025 - Financial wellbeing webinars

29 June 2025

This August 2025 is Money Month. In honour of that, we are running a webinar with a guest speaker on a different topic each week during the month. The first two webinars will be free for our customers, the second two will be paid and charged at a subsidised rate of only $50 + GST per person.

Webinar 1: The truth about emergency funds and why they matter - building a life that bends but does not break

Thursday 7th August 12:00pm - 1:00pm
FREE for Vitae customers
Guest speakers: Scott Innes (Personal Financial Consultant, Money Maverick) and a Vitae Case Study

One unexpected cost can send everything spiralling. A broken car, a lost job, a dental bill. Most people are one step away from a crisis they are not ready for. That is not just a money problem, it is a stress problem, a sleep problem, a relationship problem, and sometimes a survival problem.

This webinar is not about budgeting spreadsheets or feel-good savings tips. It is about building a life that bends but does not break.

In this session, we will show you:

  • how to protect yourself and your family from financial shock
  • why saving feels so hard, and how to break through the mental blocks
  • the myths that keep people stuck in the cycle
  • what actually works, even if money is tight
  • how to build a buffer that gives you space to breathe.

We will also be talking to a Vitae customer about their experience of receiving financial advice and the actions they took that helped them.

You will leave with a clear plan, proven tools, and a sense of control that could change everything. If you have ever thought, “I hope nothing goes wrong this month,” then this session is for you. Because when life happens, hope is not a strategy. Preparation is.

We know the financial system can feel confusing and overwhelming, like a maze that is hard to navigate on your own. This webinar is designed to help empower people to take more control of their financial situation, one step at a time, by becoming familiar with some of the services available to you.

Together we will:

  • break down some of the complexity that exists within some services
  • explore how to understand your options
  • spot things that do not feel right
  • find the right help when you need it.

In workplaces, managers play a vital role in influencing a team’s wellbeing, especially when people are doing it tough. By attending this webinar, you will gain confidence to guide your team members towards some useful financial support services.

Webinar 3: How to get excited about budgeting - to give you clarity, confidence, and control

Tuesday 19th August 12:00pm - 1:00pm
$50+GST per person
Guest speaker: Scott Innes (Personal Financial Consultant, Money Maverick)

This is not just a budgeting workshop. This is a financial awakening. If you have ever thought:

“I’m too disorganised to manage money”
“I should be better with money by now”
            “I’ll figure it out later”

...then this session is exactly what you need. And it is probably long overdue. We are not here to throw spreadsheets at you. We are here to give you clarity, confidence, and control. This is the workshop where it finally clicks.

You will learn:

  • why budgeting always felt like failure and how to make it actually work
  • what has been quietly sabotaging your progress without you even noticing
  • how to stop treating money like something to avoid or feel guilty about
  • how to face debt and spending habits without shame
  • how to get your partner or family on the same page without fighting or forcing it
  • how to set goals that feel exciting and motivating, not just boring and responsible.

This is not about cutting lattes. It is about cutting the cycle that keeps you stuck. This is not about being perfect. It is about making progress that lasts. This is not just about budgeting. It is about becoming someone who is no longer afraid of their own money. You will not leave this session the same!

Webinar 4: How to smash thru the middle class glass to get ahead - the wake up call you didn't know you needed!

Thursday 28th August 12:00pm - 1:00pm
$50+GST per person
Guest Speaker: Scott Innes (Personal Financial Consultant, Money Maverick)

You’ve done everything right. You work hard. You have a job, maybe a mortgage, maybe a family. And somehow, you still feel stuck. This webinar will change that.

We are going to expose the invisible ceiling that keeps everyday New Zealanders from building real wealth and freedom. It is not your fault. But it is your responsibility.

What you will learn:

  • why hard work and decent income are not enough to get ahead
  • how your current life season shapes your financial possibilities
  • the mindset traps that keep capable people stuck for years
  • the real cost of retirement, based on current Massey University research
  • why your success depends on the difference between income and expenses
  • habits that build quiet wealth, even when life is loud
  • the practical steps you can take now to start moving forward

This is not about theory. This is about momentum.

You will leave with clarity, confidence, and a strategy that fits your real life. No jargon. No sales pitch. No fluff. You do not need more motivation. You need a moment where everything shifts. This is that moment.

If you are ready to stop coasting and start building, this is the webinar you attend.
